Tango Youth Gathering Hamburg 2026
What is TYG?
Tango Youth Gathering - or just TYG - is a festival format that was started by Marian Rosenthal and Miriam Feix from Heidelberg
in 2025.
Their idea was to provide an affordable format for young dancers to meet others in a similar age group to learn and
dance together in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The outstanding success of their event gave us the idea to also host
such an event close to our hometown Hamburg.
Just like the original TYG, we are welcoming young dancers from everywhere to join us for a weekend full of Tango.
We will have Workshops and Shows by some of the best young professional dancers, Milongas with the most energetic, young
DJs, and hopefully an amazing, lovely crowd and - You!
Our event will be held on the last weekend of April 2026 (24.-26.) at the Sunderhof. Surrounded by trees, this amazing
place will allow us to forget the stress of everyday life and dive deep into Tango!
Who is "young"?
While we don't want to draw a sharp age line that we accept for the event, we are aiming to have a similar distribution as
seen in the original event, where the average age came out at 27. Please understand, that we don't want to discriminate
against "older" dancers - we have plenty of events and classes for all ages! Check out our Website and socials to find those.
But we want to create a space where young people have the opportunity to just be themselves and that works best in a
similar aged group. So, if you feel young, please sign up! If you don't, please enjoy one of our other
events!
Pricing
One of the top reasons for young dancers to shy away from Tango is that it is expensive. We try to fix this as best as we
can and always offer the best prices for young people. For the TYG we emphasize this even more!
We are providing two different price categories: U28 at 180€ and 28+ at 240€
This price includes all Milongas, classes, food and accomodation! This is about half the usual cost for such a weekend.
Since the venue is in the middle of the nature and not easily reachable with public transport, we will provide a shuttle service from and to the nearest
train station. If you want to make use of this service, we ask you for a small contribution of 3€ per Trip. Since we will have a limited capacity
for this service, we hope that some of you will carpool and come in groups!
Standard accomodation is in double rooms, there are 4 available single rooms at an upcost of 40€.

Venue
CVJM Sunderhof is a refuge in the middle of nature south of Hamburg. The event with all Milongas and classes as well as eating and sleeping will take place there. If you want to know about the location, please have a look at their website.
